Coke going Green at the Olympics

They start in just a couple of weeks and Coke is letting everyone know about their ‘Green’ sponsorship of the event.  They will have everything from patio furniture made from sustainable wood to electric delivery carts.  This is probably a great way for Coke to really push into this new decade.  They have always featured ad campaigns around the world being happy…Green only seems to make sense!

Although it’s already been 3 weeks – let’s not forget about Haiti! Look how far technology has come in regards to donations. Did you know that you can donate money without walking into a building, without a stamp and without going online? All you need is a cell phone – AMAZING! You can text the word “Haiti” to different numbers – each number a different organization. WOW – we’ve come a long way. Each person should be responsible for donating at least $10 to the tragedy in Haiti, they need our help!

Companies like Blue Kai and eXelate Media are tracking consumers on websites like Expedia and eBay to better understand their user base.  The unique part comes in when these companies actually put up to auction the data around these user’s behavior.  The goal is to allow advertisers and publishers to better target the customers that are vaulable to them.  Pretty interesting stuff if you have ask me.

Verizon iDont…or iDoes it?

Verizon’s iDon’t ads for the new Android phone by Motorola featuring Google’s Android 2.0.  The ad clearly goes after the iPhone, normally I am not a huge fan of companies attacking each other.  I feel like you as the consumer get put in the middle of a school yard fight between two companies.

Lowe brand going bye-bye

Interpublic Group has decided to eliminate their Lowe brand in the  US.  The brand is going to fold into Deutsch as a result of a merger between the two agencies.
